First Marathon! Ran first bit with Sharon. Val joined in Crystal City to the end. Fantastic weather. I never expected to finish - I was blubbering when I made the bridge in time. Very happy with my times until about 17 or so. Need to work on legs, as cardio was fine.

Ran with Val. Also running 50 AOLers. It was 95 deg, and RED air quality. I swelled up like a balloon (hands and feet) and could not run for the second half. Sarah and Patrick and Ann ran the kids fun run - Sarah is in the black shirt and red shorts in above picture!

Ran alone. Also running, Val. I'm VERY happy with my time. I ran with my own chip, and that confused people, so I don't have a name, just a chip number! Pace is calculated from chip time, so subtract start time from gun time and divide by 3.1 miles.

Outstanding course - on the roads through Gettysburg battlefields. I ran the entire race (well, walked through the waterstop), even sprinted at the finish. Uphill to the half and downhill back. Weather was wonderful - maybe a bit warm.

Will certainly do this again next year.
